{Katie and Sean} Charleston Connections

We've noticed many of our wedding clients have a special connection to Charleston and the Lowcountry. Whether its family, summer vacations or collegiate connections, everyone always comes back for a visit and possibly to share their wedding nuptials!

Katie and Sean were both students at Johnson & Wales Culinary school when it was located in Charleston, but have since relocated to Ohio to pursue other dreams. To reconnect them to Charleston and also to their culinary passions, Katie and Sean asked us to design their wedding reception with hints of greens and oranges and fruits and seeds to remind them of their love of culinary. The ceremony and reception at the historic Rice Mill downtown was a wonderful choice as their guests enjoyed the fabulous cuisine prepared by Good Food Catering

A special thanks to Virgil Bunao with CVI Photography for capturing all of the special moments of the day!

The awesome pastry chefs at The Cake Stand did a great job incorporaring the greens and oranges of their wedding colors into their cake.

Whitney of Branch Design Studio wove the culinary theme into the wedding flowers by making the chair markers of kumquats, blue delphinium and a sweet grass loop tied to the ceremony chairs provided by Synder Event Rentals.

Low centerpieces on the reception tables included rosemary, mint sprigs, kumquats and small tangerines, mixed with an arrangement of flowers in silver mercury footed containers. Candle centerpieces anchored with black eyed peas and orange lentils.

Special Touches: The bride's favorite cousin had passed away a few years ago, his favorite drink of choice was Cheerwine (a cherry soft drink made in North Carolina) and she found this charm to place on her bouquet to remember him during her special day.

Funny Moments: The groom's sisters, both bridesmaids in the wedding, decided to do a custom 'rap song' as a tribute to their brother, or more of a ROAST!
