Pantone's Color of the Year!

Near the end of each year fashionistas and creativists await the announcement of Pantone’s highly anticipated Color of the Year!

Well ladies, it’s in – 2013’s color is Emerald and we can’t get enough of it! This rich hue flatters any skin tone and compliments all types of décor. You'll soon spot this trend down the runway for many Spring 2013 lines. One of our favorite things about this shade is the versatility it brings with it. We’ve seen style icons like Kate Middleton sporting this color as a jewelry piece and maybe we'll see it on some of her maternity dresses! It can also be a bold look for an eye shadow and liner or for any type of furniture. Check out some of these great looks we found!

Advice for the Bride and Groom

Instead of traditional wedding sign in books many brides and grooms are opting for advise tables, wish trees,"tip" jars, or even personalized wedding libs. These are a fun alternative or addition to a traditional sign in book. It gives your family and friends a chance to offer their best advice for a happy marriage. They also can add a decorative element to your wedding, rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower. There are many different options when it comes to the display. Here are some creative designs we found via Pinterest

Winter Mint

The recent vintage trend has brought mint to fashion runways. During the spring it was hard not to watch a fashion show without catching a glimpse of refreshing mint. With winter just around the corner mint would be the perfect color for any party. Whether your using it as an accent or going all out its sure to be a crowd pleaser. We are loving mint + white combos as well as mint + yellow, and mint + pink!! Check out these picture we discovered via pinterest.

Maren + Luv - Style Me Pretty

We are thrilled that one of our very sweet couples, Maren and Luv were featured in Style Me Pretty. This very intimate wedding at Founders Hall was so much fun to plan. One of our favorite moments was when bride walked down the aisle to Florence and the Machines "Cosmic Love". See all the wonderful pictures here from the oh so talented Charlotte Elizabeth Photography.

Ultimate Critics Dinner

When RLE was asked to design the decor for the Ultimate Critics Dinner for the Charleston Wine and Food Festival, we were excited for several reasons. One, we get to watch as some of the best chefs in Charleston put together an amazing meal and two, the venue! The dinner took place at the historic Ashem Farm. Not to often do we get the opportunity to work at a new venue and Ashem is off the charts beautiful! The progressive cocktail party was followed by a 4 course seated dinner by an all star list of chefs.  If only we could have tasted the food.  Also, a big thank you to Charleston Stems for doing a wonderful job with the flowers.

Happy + John - Martha Stewart Weddings

We are beyond ecstatic to see Happy and John featured in the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings.  Of course we say this about all our clients, but we absolutely loved working with Happy and John.  They picked the beautiful Lowndes Grove Plantation for their December wedding.  After a heartfelt ceremony, their guests enjoyed cocktails in the main house followed by intimate seated dinner outside under a white tent. With help from DJ Wade, the bride and groom and their guests danced nonstop late into the night.  In addition to cake, klondike bars were served for a tasty treat.  Pick up the latest issue to see the amazing photos from the talented Tec Petaja and unique florals from Charleston Stems.

Preview for Fall

Fall is right around the corner (I must say that I am rather excited for the mild temperatures, as much as I hate to see summer go!), so we've decided to do a little preview of what we're liking for fall.  Our first instinct is to play off warm fall colors and we wanted to make sure we got some Pantone Fall colors in the mix as well!  Here are some images from Pinterest to give you some ideas of what we like.
