Charleston Wine + Food Festival 2013

This weekend was the annual BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival ®. We were extremely proud to participate and design several of the exciting events along with Charleston Stems.

We designed This Little Piggy: Pop-Up Market presented by Rachel Ray, which took place at the beautiful Lowndes Grove Plantation on the Ashley River.  This Little Piggy is an event that brings in some of the country’s greatest chefs to prepare dishes using different parts of a pig.  Check out some of the gorgeous décor that we put together for this fun, country theme event.

We were also happy to be in charge of the design for the Lowcountry Jazz Brunch presented by Motley Rice LLC and The Post & Courier.  Some of Charleston’s best restaurants and caterers served three course meals as a guests enjoyed live entertainment by The Mark Sturbank Group, featuring Quiana Parlor and Quentin Baxter.  Guests were greeted with bright spring colors for this Sunday morning brunch.

Happy + John - Martha Stewart Weddings

We are beyond ecstatic to see Happy and John featured in the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings.  Of course we say this about all our clients, but we absolutely loved working with Happy and John.  They picked the beautiful Lowndes Grove Plantation for their December wedding.  After a heartfelt ceremony, their guests enjoyed cocktails in the main house followed by intimate seated dinner outside under a white tent. With help from DJ Wade, the bride and groom and their guests danced nonstop late into the night.  In addition to cake, klondike bars were served for a tasty treat.  Pick up the latest issue to see the amazing photos from the talented Tec Petaja and unique florals from Charleston Stems.

The Ever-Popuar Bar

Well really, the candy bar.  At a Lowndes Grove wedding a few weeks ago, we created an awesome candy bar!  The bride wanted to display candies from locations and places throughout the country that were special to her and her soon-to-be hubby.  The candy variety included something for everyone and it was a complete hit!  There were Georgia peach jelly beans, New England Necco Wafers, North Carolina salt water taffy, Ohio peanut butter buckeyes(made by Wildflour Pastry, along with some Bourbon balls), San Francisco Ghiradelli Squares and a few other goodies.  Needless to say, there weren't many leftovers (unfortunately!).
A few tips for creating a candy bar:
-Allow for several different ties of candy (sour, chewy, chocolate) so there's something for everyone!
-If the weather is warm, make sure to put out the meltable candy at the very last minute.
-Do a container count before hand so you'll know if you have the right sizes
-Make sure to use containers with big openings for things like Ghiradelli Squares.
-Don't forget the serving scoops!

A British Affair

We spent this past weekend at Lowndes Grove for the wedding and reception of one of our favorite couples!  This sweet couple lives in London and wanted to bring a little bit of London to their Charleston wedding.  Check out the pictures below!
Fish and Chips were served in a wrapped newspaper along with some mushy peas.
The Charleston City Paper made the wraps look even cooler!

Pies in several flavors were served in addition to wedding cake.

The winner of the morning golf tournament won this AWESOME blazer.

{So in Love! Katie & Russ}

It's so incredible to watch two people that are so in love with each other and so excited about the ceremony moments. Every groom gets a few butterflies in his stomach (rarely can admit it!) but, I was a little worried we were going to lose this one! The groom was a cool shade of pale green and I had to get him to lie down on the couch and drink ginger ale before we started the ceremony. Photography by the talented {Captured by Kate} Thornton.

Delicious cake by {Ashley Bakery}, swiss dot design added just that extra touch to the cake detail.

Love the coral, pinks

I love this picture! Mother and Daughter share a special moment.

AAAAHHH, Father of the Bride Ken takes a breather from the dance floor.
