{Cait & Bob} Part III: Pineapple

In the South, the image of the pineapple is to express the sense of welcome, good cheer, and family affection inherent to gatherings. Cait and Bob wanted to welcome their guests in every way to their wedding weekend and we incorporated the pineapple and the additional invitation motifs into their wedding design.

We had a great time designing all the printed materials for Cait and Bob's Wedding Weekend with the help of the very talented Heather Forsythe of Heather Forsythe Designs.

The invitation was printed on Heather's 1875 antique letterpress.

The invitation suite included a matching RSVP letterpress card and return envelope, custom lined black inner envelope and a matching tiffany blue ribbon to tie everything together.
Guests received their invitation suite with custom calligraphy on the inner and outer envelopes by Gayle Hilton of Calligraphy By Request.

Guests arrived to their hotels and received a 'welcome box' from Cait and Bob with Charleston goodies, a Charleston Visitor's Guide and the weekend itinerary.

The Ceremony Program continued the theme-thread with the pineapple on the cover, tiffany blue ribbon,  all printed on deckled edge card stock.

Pineapple Escort Card Tree constructed of real pineapples with matching guest escort cards hanging.

Cait and Bob's Table Signs of their favorite places and experiences. On the back was a description for their guests to learn a few more details about the happy couple!

Thanks again to Ameila and Dan Hale of Dreamland Images for capturing all of these detailed shots of printed materials for this beautiful wedding.

{Cait & Bob} Part II

Symbolic elements are the key to making your wedding a unique and special celebration.  A ring pillow, an old handkerchief, a close friend, family children; the options are endless.
Since 1948, Cait's family has passed down this ring pillow to be included in every family wedding.

The handkerchief was Cait's grandmother's and her 'something borrowed' from her mother.
Bob included a dear friend as one of his attendants as a 'grooms-woman' to be a part of the wedding celebration.
'Kissing Cousins', the flower girl was so elated to be a part of the wedding day she leaned over to give the ringbearer a kiss on the cheek!

{Cait & Bob} Part I

Your wedding is a day that you have been planning since you were a little girl and you want everyone to leave afterwards saying, “That is the best wedding I have ever been to!” And that is what the family and friends of Bob and Cait Denny have been saying since they left the wedding in late June.

Both are originally from Ohio, so they really wanted to make the trip down to Charleston extra special for their guests.  After the beautiful Wedding Ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bob and Cait took their guests on a personal history tour of downtown Charleston. Guests then joined the reception at Charlestowne Landing, at The Legare-Waring House. Everyone arrived to the front lawn of the Legare ~ Waring House where they picked up their escort cards from a pineapple escort card tree that was a nod to the 'welcome' to Charleston.

Throughout the night, guests enjoyed southern-style  fare of Pulled Pork BBQ, Babyback Ribs, Beef Brisket,  and Shrimp and Grits catered by Granville’s Catering.

To sweeten their palate,  a variety of delicious pies were served in lieu of a wedding cake: Blackberry Cabernet, Salt Rimed Margarita, Apple and Key Lime Pies all created by the talented new 3.14 Pies

Everyone had a great time dancing the night away to the sounds of DJ Rob Duren and the night ended with a lavender send-off for the bride and groom as they exited in a Classic 1967 Black Mustang Convertible.

A huge thank you to Ameilia and Dan from Dreamland Images for capturing this beautiful day!
Red Letter Events had a great time celebrating this joyous occasion with  Bob and Cait and we wish them many years of happiness!! More to come on this beautiful wedding, stay tuned.....
